Dear Colleagues,

VSI’s mission is to bring about an overall improvement in the socio-economic status of sugarcane growers by providing cutting edge technologies through scientific research related to sugarcane and sugarcane co-products.

VSI is organizing the International Conference & Exhibition on “Sugarcane Value Chain - Vision 2025 Sugar” during November 13 – 16, 2016 at VSI. Eminent International and National speakers will be delivering lectures on significantly different important aspects of sugarcane value chain. Shri Narendra Modi, Honourable Prime Minister of India has consented to inaugurate the Conference.

It is also a matter of pride for VSI that, the Conference is coinciding with the birth centenary year of Late Vasantdada Patil, Founder of the Institute.

About Pune

Pune, a sprawling city in the Indian state of Maharashtra, was once the base of the peshwas (prime ministers) of the Maratha Empire. It's known for the grand Aga Khan Palace, built in 1892 and now a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, whose ashes are preserved in the garden. The 8th-century Pataleshwar Cave Temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
